The full guide

Some tasks need an in-person appointment. Confirm the available service and format before booking, including arrangements for children and supporters.

01

Prepare to connect.

  • Confirm the appointment, joining instructions and backup contact number.
  • Check your device, camera, microphone and internet connection.
  • Tell us about communication needs and anyone you want to join.

Our appointment checklist helps you prepare. Ask how privacy, recordings and information sharing will be handled.

02

Agree on funding and costs.

Online delivery does not automatically make a support NDIS-funded. Check your plan, applicable support item and the current pricing and claiming guidance. Agree the rate, appointment length and any additional work before starting.

Read our NDIS telehealth guide for funding questions. Medicare eligibility has separate requirements and must be checked for the appointment.

03

Questions before you book.

What if online appointments do not suit me?

Tell the team about your needs and preferences. Ask which in-person or other appointment options are available for your service and region.

Can someone join to support me?

Ask how to include a person you trust. Confirm who will attend and what information you agree to share.

What happens if the connection drops out?

Agree a backup contact method and ask about interruption, rescheduling and charging arrangements before the appointment.

Real stories

Support that shows.

The telehealth support was very helpful.

Wasn’t sure about telehealth at first, but Unify made it easy. I live out past Ballarat so in-person stuff is hard. But the sessions feel personal, and my OT really cares. It’s helped heaps with my independence goals.

No more waiting forever for a call back.

Our last provider was impossible to reach. Unify responds to emails quickly, updates us without needing to be chased, and always explains things clearly. That alone is worth its weight in gold.
